Songbird: The Songs of Eva Cassidy

Niamh Strong

Niamh Strong and her band bring Eva Cassidy's beloved songs to Listowel in a soulful evening of jazz, blues and memory.

Following sold-out performances and standing ovations across Ireland, acclaimed Irish singer-songwriter Niamh Strong brings her heartfelt tribute show, Songbird – The Songs of Eva Cassidy, to St. John’s Theatre; the first time the show will be in Kerry.

A lifelong admirer of Eva Cassidy, Niamh has spent the past number of years sharing Eva’s timeless music with audiences throughout the country. Her moving interpretations of classics such as Songbird, Fields of Gold, Somewhere Over the Rainbow, and many more have touched the hearts of audiences everywhere she performs. The show regularly evokes powerful memories and emotions, with audience members often sharing personal stories inspired by Eva’s music and the profound impact it has had on their lives.

Niamh comes from one of Ireland’s most celebrated musical families. She is the daughter of legendary soul singer Rob Strong and sister of Andrew Strong, best known for his iconic role in The Commitments. Alongside her tribute performances, Niamh continues to write and perform her own original music, earning praise for her distinctive voice, honest songwriting, and captivating live performances.

Joining Niamh on the night will be some of Ireland’s finest musicians: Mark Dudley on guitar, Dermot Lally on double bass, and Brendan Doherty on drums. Together, they create a rich and intimate musical experience that celebrates the beauty, soul, blues, jazz, and emotion of Eva Cassidy’s extraordinary catalogue.

Niamh and her band are delighted to be bringing this special show to Listowel, County Kerry, and look forward to sharing an unforgettable evening of music, memories, and celebration with audiences at St. John’s Theatre.
