Róisín Sheehy Gaelic Residency

We are delighted to welcome award-winning poet, playwright, and performing artist Róisín Sheehy for an exciting six-week Gaelic residency.

Celebrating the Irish language through creative expression, this dynamic residency features a diverse series of community-focused events designed to engage speakers of all levels. The program kicks off with a welcoming meet-and-greet evening for Pobal na Gaeilge, fostering local connections right in the heart of the theatre.

Throughout the month, the residency expands into the wider community with educational outreach workshops at the local Gaelscoil, alongside immersive on-site sessions at St. John's. Participants can look forward to a unique, hour-long Movement, Drama, and Writing workshop that blends physical expression with textual creativity, as well as dedicated Saturday morning writing masterclasses.

Bridging folklore, performance, and literary art, this residency offers a vibrant space for the community to explore, create, and connect through the medium of Irish.
